meet the faces of do good oxford
Hi, i’m amanda.
Lifelong crafter (and craft supply hoarder), wife, mom and step-mom, DIY’er, diet-coke lover, and creative soul.
I have a passion for sharing the arts with everyone and making everyone feel seen and celebrated. I believe strongly that sometimes we all just need to get a bit messy and take life a little less seriously (no matter how old we are!)
Before creating Do Good Oxford, I had a fulfilling career serving and advocating for those most vulnerable in our Oxford County community. Now, I am sinking my creative juices into cultivating opportunities for people to come together, learn, create and grow. While also encouraging people to find every method and opportunity they can to “do good” for our community.
My husband Tim and I became tired of always travelling outside the area for family dates (that also ended up costing us a small fortune - have you been to the movies lately?!). I wanted to spend time creating with my kiddos and friends, but was struggling to find something locally that was drop-in style or didn’t feel intimidating. We didn’t need a scheduled program, or elite training and instruction, we just needed access to materials and a safe space to create, innovate and gather.
Like others, our family also felt the isolating impacts of the pandemic. I found a strong desire to feel a part of community again, and have been craving connection, inspiration, creativity and like-minded people. It all left me a little lost, and I have delved into a self discovery and healing journey ever since.
What the pandemic DID provide, was lots of time to envision what I think the world can be…
And so, i introduce…
