A space To Make, Create and grow.
Do Good is proudly a maker’s space, where creativity and community collide.
Our studio space is designed for open-ended creativity, featuring hands-on art projects for all ages, and access to all sorts of expected and unexpected materials. Through workshops, multi-week programs, events and drop-in space, we’re bringing creativity and community together in a unique way for Oxford County.
What We Offer
At Do Good we believe…
Kids want to tell you all about their creation, more than they need to hear “it’s great!”
Both kids and adults need an opportunity to get hands on.
Everyone deserves to have their efforts nourished and encouraged.
Nothing great is ever made alone.
But most importantly, no matter what brings you into Do Good, we believe it’s important for us all to have a space where perfection isn’t expected, not everyone’s bodies are “perfect”, and you can truly feel safe just as you are.
Things need to get a little messy!
It’s important to colour outside the lines (and sometimes ignore them altogether!)
The focus should always be on the process, in the mess, in the unknown - and never on the end product.
If you create a space that fosters creativity and exploration, anyone’s innate curiosity, innovative thinking and natural abilities will do the rest.
Everyone is an artist, and everyone has something beautiful to offer and say.
Hi, i’m amanda.
Lifelong crafter (and craft supply hoarder), wife, mom and step-mom, DIY’er, diet-coke lover, and creative soul.
I have a passion for sharing the arts with everyone and making everyone feel seen and celebrated. I believe strongly that sometimes we all just need to get a bit messy and take life a little less seriously (no matter how old we are!)
Before creating Do Good Oxford, I had a fulfilling career serving and advocating for those most vulnerable in our Oxford County community. Now, I am sinking my creative juices into cultivating opportunities for people to come together, learn, create and grow. While also encouraging people to find every method and opportunity they can to “do good” for our community.
My husband Tim and I became tired of always travelling outside the area for family dates (that also ended up costing us a small fortune - have you been to the movies lately?!). I wanted to spend time creating with my kiddos and friends, but was struggling to find something locally that was drop-in style. We didn’t need a scheduled program, or elite training and instruction, we just needed access to materials and a safe space to create, innovate and gather.
We also felt the isolating impacts of the pandemic. I found a strong desire to feel a part of community again, and have been craving connection, inspiration, creativity and like-minded people. BUT! What the pandemic DID provide, was lots of time to envision what I think the world can be.
